Warranty & Aftercare
Warranty & Aftercare
At AG & CO Jewellery, every piece is created with careful attention to craftsmanship, quality and longevity. Our warranty and aftercare services are designed to give you confidence in your jewellery while helping you keep it secure and looking its best for years to come.
Our guarantees apply in addition to any rights you may have under Australian Consumer Law.
Lifetime Diamond Manufacturing Warranty
The centre diamond supplied by AG & CO Jewellery is covered by our Lifetime Diamond Manufacturing Warranty.
This warranty applies to genuine manufacturing defects affecting the diamond itself. If you believe your diamond has a manufacturing-related structural issue, our team will arrange an assessment to determine the cause and the appropriate resolution.
Please note that this warranty applies to the diamond itself and does not operate as insurance.
What is not covered
- Loss or theft
- Accidental damage
- Chips, fractures or breakage caused by impact
- Damage caused by improper handling, excessive force or unreasonable treatment
- Damage resulting from everyday wear or failure to obtain necessary maintenance
- Loss of the diamond due to damage, wear or deterioration of the setting
12-Month Workmanship Guarantee
Your jewellery setting is covered by our 12-Month Workmanship Guarantee from the date of purchase.
If a genuine manufacturing fault or workmanship defect is identified during this period, AG & CO Jewellery will repair or replace the affected piece free of charge, subject to assessment.
Manufacturing defects generally become apparent within the first few months of normal wear. This guarantee does not cover damage caused by normal wear and tear, accidental damage, physical activity, improper handling or other external factors.
Examples of issues not considered manufacturing defects
- Scratches, dents, knocks or surface marks caused by everyday wear
- Discolouration caused by chemicals, cosmetics, cleaning products, swimming pools, spas or bathing
- Bent, misshapen or damaged ring bands caused by pressure, impact or physical activity
- Damage caused by gym training, weightlifting, gardening, DIY, sport or heavy housework
- Worn, bent, caught or damaged claws or prongs
- Stone loss caused by worn or damaged claws, accidental impact or improper handling
- Stones that chip, fracture or break through impact or normal wear
- Metal fatigue or deterioration caused by repeated force, friction or unreasonable treatment
- Damage resulting from delays in obtaining necessary repairs or maintenance
- Product loss, stone loss or theft
Complimentary Ring Resizing
We offer unlimited complimentary ring resizing for the first 12 months from the date of purchase.
This service is intended to help ensure a comfortable and secure fit should your finger size change or require adjustment during the first year.
Some designs, including certain eternity bands, highly intricate settings or rings with structural limitations, may not be suitable for resizing. Our team will assess the piece and advise you before any work is carried out.
Complimentary Cleaning & Inspections
AG & CO Jewellery offers complimentary professional cleaning and inspections to help maintain the condition, security and brilliance of your jewellery.
For jewellery worn regularly, we recommend an inspection approximately every six months, or sooner if the piece has experienced impact, pressure or potential trauma.
During an inspection, we may assess
- The condition of the setting
- The security of the centre and accent stones
- Claws and prongs for signs of wear
- The shape and integrity of the band
- Areas requiring maintenance or preventative repair
Regular inspections are particularly important for pavé-set rings and other designs featuring multiple small stones, as these styles require additional care over time.
Complimentary inspections do not include repairs, restoration, replacement stones, polishing or refinishing where the work is required due to normal wear or damage. Any recommended work outside warranty coverage will be quoted before proceeding.
Caring for Your Jewellery
Fine jewellery is durable, but it is not indestructible. To protect your piece, we recommend:
- Removing jewellery before gym sessions, weightlifting, sport, gardening, DIY and heavy housework
- Avoiding unnecessary force, pressure or impact
- Removing jewellery before swimming, bathing or using cleaning chemicals
- Avoiding direct contact with cosmetics, perfumes, lotions and harsh products
- Storing jewellery separately in a soft-lined box or pouch
- Having the setting inspected promptly after any knock, impact or suspected damage
- Avoiding continued wear if a stone feels loose or the setting appears bent or damaged
A helpful guide is to make jewellery the last thing you put on when getting ready and the first thing you remove when returning home.
Warranty Assessments & Repairs
If you believe your jewellery has a manufacturing defect, please contact our team before sending the item.
We will arrange for the piece to be inspected by our production or jewellery team to determine whether the issue falls within the applicable warranty or guarantee.
If a manufacturing defect is confirmed
- The approved repair or replacement will be completed at no charge
- Any applicable postage deposit will be refunded in full
If the issue is not covered by warranty
- We will provide a repair quotation for your approval
- No repair work will begin without your authorisation
- If you choose not to proceed, the item will be returned to you
Sending Jewellery for Assessment
For assessments completed by post within Australia, a $50 two-way postage deposit is required.
When returning jewellery, please include where available:
- The original packaging
- Your invoice or order confirmation
- Diamond or gemstone certificates
- A note outlining the issue
- Your current contact details
Please package the jewellery securely in protective packaging.
The postage deposit will be refunded if the issue is confirmed to be a manufacturing defect. If the issue is not covered by warranty and you choose not to proceed with the quoted repair, the deposit will be applied towards return postage.
Repairs or Alterations by Third Parties
Repairs, resizing, restoration or alterations performed by a jeweller or service provider not authorised by AG & CO Jewellery may affect your warranty coverage.
Where possible, please contact our team before arranging any external work so we can provide the appropriate guidance.
